We are a group of volunteers brought together by a shared vision: to create meaningful, age-appropriate resources that introduce children to the concepts of justice, human rights, and freedom—through the story of Palestine.
The story A Tale of the Stolen Toys was written by Şeyma Nur Dalkılıç and Zülal İçöz. Zülal is also co-authored the accompanying adult guidebook with Fatma Nur Dolu, who served as the project’s initial editor. The main editorial work was carried out by Ayşegül Özdoğan and Sena Çiftçi, while the story’s illustrations were beautifully brought to life by Elif İrem Çelik.

WHY IT MATTERS!
As Maya Angelou declares in her poem Still I Rise:
“You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.”
Through this project, we aim to plant seeds of awareness and empathy in young minds—introducing them to the fundamental values of human rights, freedom, and justice. By telling a symbolic story, we create space to explore difficult truths with clarity and care.

Zülal’s message
“Palestine has revealed the truth. It changed how I think, what I value, even who I want to share my life with. I no longer aspire to a life shaped by colonial comfort. I reject the so-called ‘post-colonial’ narrative—it was never real. We’ve all been betrayed. And we will hold the betrayers accountable—through learning, speaking out, and honoring Palestine’s resistance.
We now know: we are all Palestinian. We are all Congolese. We are all Sudanese.
Just as we are freeing our own minds from the grip of colonization, we will not allow the same playgrounds of indoctrination to be built inside the minds of our children.”
